Bread making for us started with a bread maker. Stop for a while and then came back with vengeance during a blizzard. The day before the storm the store shelves where cleared of toilet paper and bread. I couldn't buy bread but I could buy all of the ingredients and we had a bread maker. This time bread making stuck and it has become a staple of our house.

Nothing fancy everyday bread

5 grams yeast ( about 1 teaspoon)

450 ml warm water

5 grams salt (1 teaspoon)

45 grams olive oil

5 grams sugar - to activate yeast

700 grams of flour

In a mixing bowl add yeast, salt, sugar, olive oil, warm water. Stir together.

Let sit about 5-10 mins while the yeast begins to bubble.

Now add flour.

Mix on the KitchenAid until it is well blended. You may need to scrap down the side of the bowl part way through. This should take about 10-15 mins.

Cover and let the dough rise for about 90mins

After 90 mins, grease a bread pan and transfer the dough to the greased bread pan.

Let the dough rise again for about 30 mins.

At 35 mins preheat the oven for 400 degrees. Once the oven is preheated put the pan in the oven

Set a timer for 40 mins.

At 40 mins remove the bread from the oven. Remove the bread from the pan and place on a cooling rack until cool.
